“WRONG REMEDY”

My point is not to make you believe in the Bible but the moral of the story I am going to use from the Bible.

We all know the story of Jonah who got swallowed by a big fish. Allow me to point out to the challenge that was at hand.

THE RAGING STORM

A storm hit the boat that Johah was in and a solution to survive was thought of by all that were in the boat .

SOLUTION

To lighten the boat,they began throwing aboard cargo, probably stuff they really needed under ‘normal circumstances. But that didn’t help because that wasn’t the solution.

Jonah 1:4 Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up. 5 All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship.

THE CAUSE & REMEDY

Johah 1:12 “Pick me up and throw me into the sea,” he replied, “and it will become calm. I know that it is my fault that this great storm has come upon you.”

THE SEA BECOMES CALM Jonah1:15 Then they took Jonah and threw him overboard, and the raging sea grew calm.

Diagnosis of the real primary cause helps in that resources are not wasted in implementing wrong remedial action to a challenge.
